In January 2023, the Kantgarage became a standout venue for Berlin Fashion Week, hosting multiple daily shows across its unique three-level structure. As the production lead, I was responsible for transforming the space into a dynamic and adaptable fashion showcase, ensuring the seamless execution of all events over several days. The production’s complexity stemmed from the need to accommodate varying set designs and configurations for each show, requiring extensive coordination and rapid transitions between presentations. The technical planning and execution of the set designs were at the core of my responsibilities, including the creation of detailed production schedules and construction drawings. These plans ensured that each show’s unique creative vision was realized while maintaining the functionality and flow of the overall event. Coordinating the efforts of multiple teams, including lighting, sound, construction, and design, was essential to achieving a harmonious integration of all elements. This meticulous coordination enabled the space to be reconfigured efficiently and effectively throughout the event. The logistical challenges of managing a venue spread over three floors required a structured approach and precise execution. Each floor was adapted to meet the needs of the diverse shows, with every detail carefully planned to deliver a visually impactful and immersive experience for attendees. The comprehensive planning extended to managing tight schedules, ensuring smooth transitions between setups, and addressing the unique requirements of each designer. This structured approach to production allowed the Kantgarage to shine as a Fashion Week venue, providing an engaging and memorable experience for both designers and attendees.
