Special Olympics World Games 2023

The Special Olympics World Games 2023 marked the highlight of the sporting calendar in Berlin. On behalf of mediapool Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH, responsible for delivering the opening and closing ceremonies, production management on the Straße des 17. Juni was successfully undertaken. The event site featured an impressive stage for the spectacular closing ceremony, which captivated both the live audience and international viewers. Additionally, the venue included a 5 km cycling racecourse, complemented by multiple site events on the stage in front of the Brandenburg Gate. This large-scale production demanded close coordination across the main site and the extended cycling track. Meeting international standards and requirements, the event was nearly double the scale of the previous year’s national games. Comprehensive planning and meticulous organization ensured the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin became an unforgettable experience for athletes, visitors, and audiences worldwide.
